April Recap

Hello hello! Its a brand new month! The last few weeks flew by and I don’t have a ton of new updates to be honest. One of the things I did do which was actually quite fun was testing out a few different types of watercolor paper. I think a more detailed breakdown of the results would make a great blog post at some point but for now here is just a fun photo collage. It gave me new information about some of the materials that I have worked with and I could compare them side by side with the same motif each time.

Speaking of motif, the motif was a riff on something I made quite awhile ago on my iPad in Procreate and have been wanting to play with in traditional media. And after my traditional media experiment I wanted to go back to digital and play with the motif again but this time in repeat pattern form. #throwback to my pattern making days. The mock up of this pattern came together so quickly and I’ve had such a good time playing with different color combinations and brainstorming companion patterns. Maybe a mini collection on Spoonflower is in order soon? Regardless its been really gratifying and a great exercise to be able to take something so simple and use it in so many different ways.

That’s about it for this update! Thank you again for stopping by and supporting my work, it is so very appreciated! See you again in a few weeks
