Mid April Update

Hello hello! I hope everyone is having a good month so far! Just popping in with a short studio update. Like I said at the beginning of the month I am trying to paint/create without worrying about the outcome or feeling like I’m wasting supplies and I think I have done a pretty decent job so far. Hooray! Though to be fair life has still been busy so I haven’t been able to really create as much as I’d like, and I think that the feelings of pressure and perfectionism will really kick in when I’ve got a pile of “bad” art stacked on my table haha. But a small win is still a win!

me dealing with pressure and perfectionism 😂

Here is a watercolor piece that I experimented with. Lemon is one of my favorite flavors and it just feels springy, summery, and fresh which I have been craving lately both in food and in my environment. I’ve never painted the background after painting the subject so that was interesting. I’m not sure how I feel about it just yet.

I also decided to try the same piece in acrylic gouache. It is still a work in progress and so far I am having a way harder time with it but I’m still really enjoying it.

That’s about it for the last two weeks. Thank you so much for visiting and stay tuned for my April studio recap in a another couple of weeks!
